Aircrew E-Learning Program

Flight Medicine Systems has partnered with Asia’s leading technology-based training provider, AviationLearn, to produce engaging, interactive aviation medicine e-learning training courses for aircrew. These online training courses utilise the latest web-based multimedia training technologies. The training makes use of real cases to illustrate key points. The courses consist of several modules, each of which contain regular assessments to check your understanding, and upon successful completion of all modules you will receive a certificate of completion.

Two courses are currently available:

General Aviation Medicine

The Aviation Medicine for Aircrew e-learning program is designed to improve your awareness and knowledge of the medical and physiological effects of flight. Understanding these aviation medicine topics is crucially important to maximising your safety in flight. The information in this training course is therefore vitally important to every pilot, since every pilot and passenger is potentially at risk from the adverse effects of these issues. There are currently 7 modules in this e-learning program dealing with a range of human performance limitations in aviation. These include the typical cabin environment, pressure effects, barotrauma, motion sickness, hypoxia, decompression effects and fitness to fly.

Spatial Disorientation Awareness

The Spatial Disorientation Awareness e-learning program is designed to improve your awareness and knowledge of spatial disorientation. Understanding the nature of spatial disorientation, the different types of illusions that can occur in flight, and how to recognise, prevent and manage these illusions is crucially important to maximising your safety in flight. The information in this training course is therefore vitally important to every pilot, since spatial disorientation will occur in every pilot at some stage of their flying career. Training and awareness can increase the chances of surviving a spatial disorientation event. There are currently 6 modules in this e-learning program dealing with various aspects of spatial disorientation.
